Preface


Purpose: I've heard lots of complaints from MANY people that GtkRadiant 1.5 wont work in Windows Vista. Here is the fix. Enjoy.

Disclaimer:This worked for me. If you attempt this, and it doesn't work for you, kindly don't blame anything on me. ;) lulz attempting to avoid any major legal problems.

Steps to Fixing GtkRadiant 1.5 in Windows Vista


Here are the steps I followed to fix my GtkRadiant 1.5 install. NOTE: Follow these very carefully in order not to screw up your install! NOTE: This only works for GtkRadiant 1.5 and Vista. I dont suggest trying it with any other setup than the said one!

Steps:
1)Locate your GtkRadiant 1.5 folder in your program files. Normal directory: Computer > C:/ > Program Files > GtkRadiant 1.5.0


2)Open GtkRadiant 1.5.0 and locate the file called "GtkRadiant.exe". Yes, this is indeed the program itself.


3)Right click the file and select "Properties."


4)Amongst the tabs at the top of the Properties window that should have popped up should be one called "Compatibility". Click it. This should be the properties window now:


5)Locate the check-box which reads "Disable desktop composition". Mark it.


6)Click apply and the program should function normally.
